Why use LHB Veterinary Physiotherapy?

Laura did an excellent job with my mini-dachshund, who was unable to walk or toilet properly following a spinal op for IVDD. He has now made a full recovery and will miss all the care, fuss and treats he received from Laura. The regular home visits, expert care and clear advice were very much appreciated, thank you Laura!

Laura has really helped our dog be much more comfortable and at ease in his wheelchair. She came to our house at times suitable to us in our busy working parent lives! Laura is lovely and very knowledgable. She gave our dog massages, physio and infra red laser therapy and he adores her. Thanks so much!

JOY

Joy has had surgery for Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD)
"Laura is very good getting Joy to co-operate and do the exercises and has a lovely relationship with her. She obviously knows her stuff and we can see how she's got Joy moving her back legs and regained her strength after back surgery. When Laura first came Joy could hardly hold her own weight and was very wobbly and unstable. Every week she has become stronger and is now behaving like her old self. Without Laura I'm certain Joy would not be as happy and mobile as she is and on top of that our other furby Bobby pulled a muscle and was hopping on 3 legs. He was soon sorted with Laura's help! Don't hesitate to contact this professional and skilled physio".

RUDY

" Laura’s work with my young event horse over the last few months has made such a difference to our training. He is much more supple and happier in his work since Laura started working with him. Laura is very professional and sensitive in her approach to animals and always explains what she is doing and why. I would highly recommend LHB veterinary physio to anyone looking to improve their horse’s way of going or as maintenance to prevent injuries".
His owner shared some videos of him looking super in a showjumping lesson saying he felt much softer and more forward! She has also added regular carrot stretches into his routine to help maintain the suppleness in his neck between sessions.

MURPHY

Murphy is having non surgical, conservative treatment for spinal compression in his neck.
"Laura has been amazing for our border terrier Murphy, he loves each and every session with her. She has a great ability to put Murphy at ease with her natural kindness towards animals and always handles him with such care. Murphy has really benefited from his sessions with Laura, and as a family we have found her wide animal knowledge and expertise very comforting and informative throughout the whole process. I can not recommend Laura and her amazing service enough!"

VELVET

"Velvet my 26 year old Welsh/ part bred Arab mare had a freak accident whilst turned out in the arena on the 22nd January 2024.  She was graded an 8/10 lame on her left forelimb and it took 4 of us to get her out of the arena and back to her stable.

There appeared to be nothing broken when the vet examined her however she was very lame and struggling to weight bare. She went on a course of inflacam and paracetamol for 10 days and we then x-rayed the leg , no damage was shown on the X-rays. She had made improvement but was still graded a 6/10 lame in trot. The leg was then nerve blocked but no improvement was made.

2 weeks later the vets decided to scan the whole leg where it was confirmed she had strained the superficial digital flexor muscle .

This was an injury no vet or physio had come across so the outcome of her recovery/ soundness was unknown. Physio was then introduced every two weeks.

With a combination of Bute, laser , physio and hand walking . Velvet came fully sound within 6 months.

Laura throughout the whole process has been outstanding . She’s been thorough with everything she has done. Her knowledge is second to none and thanks to her massive input velvet wouldn’t have bounced back as well as she has done.

Velvet is now fully sound , turned out in the field , back to being ridden and attending water treadmill sessions weekly to ensure the muscle is fully strengthened. She completed her first show over the weekend to which she got placed first in both classes and the judge was amazed by her fitness and condition."
